This is a transcription of one of the most famous classical pieces, Bach’s Cello suite No. 1: Prelude arranged for a solo guitar in C major. As a guitarist, classical repertoire ranges from aggressive and angular to soft and beautiful but no piece is nearly as famous and listenable as pieces from Beethoven, Mozart, or Bach. In recording this piece, I am trying to reach other guitarists through a great equalising force that is classical music and including a download of tab sheet music any guitarist can learn the piece with. To reach a wider audience, I have recorded this version on an electric guitar bringing the ancient sounds to the modern musician. Classical music is something that can be very hard to get into as a listener and especially as a performer, however I feel I have made a more direct path for both listeners and musicians to get into this genre.

These tabs are designed for a beginner guitarist to be able to start playing immediately and for advanced players to experiment moving around the neck.

Guitar used to perform is my Godin Fifth Avenue hollow body electric. I used a Carr Rambler amp sim in my Fractal AX8 and a DI signal. This was recorded as a single take with no edits on February 27, 2021 around 1pm in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA (check your charts).
